Myrtle Beach State Park
So, you’re planning a trip to Myrtle Beach and are trying to get your itinerary straight. Surely you’ve already factored in the areas famous beach, shopping, dining, golf and tennis attractions. But there’s still one great attraction in the area that you’ve most likely missed - Myrtle Beach State Park. The park is located right off South King’s Highway (near the Myrtle Beach airport), and is the perfect way to spend a free day in your vacation schedule.
The park itself has a variety of options to suit practically any vacationer - from beautiful uncrowded beaches to miles of easy-going hiking trails. Also, Myrtle Beach State Park has 350 campsites, a great fishing pier, and horseback riding. You can even bring your favorite pooch (as long as you keep them on leashes and pick up after them).
Myrtle Beach State Park is open from 6am -10pm March-November, and from 6am - 8pm December - February. Admission is free for children 5 and under, $3 for ages 6-15, $5 for age 16- senior, and $3.25 for seniors.
